Because holy rest doesn’t happen by accident.

Have you ever felt like your day slips away before you’ve even caught your breath? Like you want to slow down—but life keeps rushing in?
That’s where I was. I longed for rest, but my schedule never seemed to make space for it. My soul was tired, not just from busyness—but from living without intention.
That’s when I discovered the beauty of a Rule of Life.
What is a Rule of Life?
A Rule of Life is not a set of rules. It’s a sacred rhythm—a spiritual framework that helps you shape your life around what truly matters.
Think of it as a trellis. It doesn’t grow the vine, but it supports the growth.
A Rule of Life helps you prioritize:
Prayer
Rest
Work
Relationships
Rhythms of renewal
It’s how you live aligned with your values, instead of constantly reacting to life.
Jesus Had Rhythms Too
Jesus withdrew often to lonely places to pray. He worked. He feasted. He sabbathed. He rested—not because He was weak, but because He was rooted in the Father’s rhythm.
“Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.” — Mark 1:35
If even Jesus needed rhythms of retreat and prayer, how much more do we?
Creating Your Own Rule of Life
You don’t need a perfect plan. You just need a place to begin. Here are a few gentle prompts to get started:
🌤️ Daily:
When will I pause to pray or reflect?
What practices help me stay present to God?
🌱 Weekly:
How can I honor the Sabbath or a day of rest?
Where will I intentionally slow down?
🌊 Monthly/Seasonally:
Do I need a personal retreat day?
How can I check in with God about my calling and direction?

Final Encouragement
We don’t drift into spiritual health. We design for it—one small, intentional rhythm at a time.
A Rule of Life isn’t legalistic. It’s liberating. It frees you to say yes to what matters—and no to what doesn’t.
So if your soul feels scattered… start with structure. Let your days be shaped not by the world’s demands, but by the gentle invitation of Jesus:
“Abide in Me, and I in you.” — John 15:4
